We feel honored and grateful to be in such a magnificent and beautiful area: What we
call
"neighbors with heaven." We've included some photos of nearby areas so
you'll see what we mean. At the Inn and beyond you're sure to discover magical energy created
by the tall pillars of pines, cedars, and granite structures of the Sierra. The stillness of
the air seems to transport one to a state of silence and solace, even if only
for a moment, inspiration to achieve our highest purpose: Community sharing & caring.... - Mi Wuk Village Inn; Busy working to help make dreams come true:
- Family Vacation Scholarship Program- details facilitated through bay area school systems, wellness centers.
- Wellness Retreats for Individuals and Families in collaboration with our onsite Nutrition Counselor and Massage Therapists, RN.

- The Inn participates in benefits for effective charities and currently actively involved with American Cancer Society "Relay for Life"
- Honored to be involved in local and statewide silent auctions and fund raisers for social/cultural inspiration. Inspire.....In Spirit!
Here are some of our favorite "get away" places just minutes up Highway 108.
The photos are in order of traveling "up the hill."
Lyon's Reservoir (10 minutes)
Pinecrest Lake (15 minutes)
Beardsley Reservoir (35 minutes)
Donnell's Vista Point (40 minutes)
Kennedy Meadows (45 minutes)
Eagle Meadows (1 hour)
Sonora Pass Summit (1 hour)

Lyon's
Reservoir
Located just 3 miles up
Highway 108 and then 2 miles down to the reservoir. The 2-mile drive down
to the reservoir is a gravel road and open only after the winter's snow
has melted. Boating and swimming are not permitted in the reservoir. Trout
fishing is the favorite sport at Lyon's in addition to taking a wonderful
hike around the "lake." Not a frequently tourist visited area...perhaps
because of the gravel road. Certainly worth the dust on the car!

Just 10 minutes
"up the hill" at a little pullout just before Coldsprings. You can't
miss it on your right!

|
Pinecrest Lake
PInecrest Lake
is by far the most popular outdoor area on the Highway 108 corridor. It's just 12
minutes from the Inn, to boat, swim, fish, hike, camp and play with an approximate 3.5 mile hike around the lake. Pinecrest evening entertainment features outdoor movies under the stars during summer months.
See Summer Activities page for more information. Pinecrest Marina offers rentals for Party, and small boats for your own private travel to secluded beaches. |

Beardsley Reservoir
Beardsley
Reservoir is
another popular body of water for boating and fishing. Motor boats and water
skiing are permitted. The drive is about 30 minutes up Highway 108
then a left turn well marked then down a well paved, but constant
downgrade and somewhat windy for about 6 miles. Definitely worth the trip! Remember...we have a BBQ area for your return to the Inn!

Donnell's
Vista Point
Without a doubt, this is one
of the most spectacular vista points on Sonora Pass, with the exception of
the entire pass itself! It's just a little unassuming sign marked "Donnell's
Vista Point." Pull into the parking lot and be sure to take the path that
leads to the right. At first you'll think it isn't much...until you keep
walking. Be sure to walk all the way to the end and the lookout point.
Then look down 1,100 feet into the Stanislaus River and across the huge
ravine to the magnificent Dardanelle's, an ancient lava flow still
remaining on the top of the Sierras after millions of years. Truly worth
the trip!

Eagle Meadows
This is a bit
of an adventure. After about 40 minutes up Highway 108 you'll see a sign
which says "Eagle Meadows" to the right. The first couple of miles are a
narrow paved road then it changes to a gravel road for about another 6
miles. Some parts of the road can be a little rough so a 4-wheel drive
vehicle is recommended but not necessary. Of course, this road is only
open after the winter's snow has melted. The scenery is absolutely
spectacular! Judge for yourself. |

Kennedy Meadows
Kennedy
Meadows is the high mountain Gateway to the Emigrant Wilderness, with pack
station (great horseback riding) and lodging established in 1917.
A glorious 40 minute drive.. each mile of spectacular scenic interest,
leading to afternoons memorable fishing.
Remote "High Sierra"
lodging, where "Lassie" was filmed! Open from the last Friday in April to the Columbus
Day Holiday weekend in October. Visit the
Kennedy Meadows website for details

Sonora Pass Summit
Travel to California's second highest pass! Approximately 1 1/2 hours of exquisite scenery and a climb to 9,624 feet, this would be a difference of 4,924 feet from the Inn (4,700 feet) to the pass! The pass is closed during winter snowy months, usually opening in May or June...with variable closing in the Fall or early Winter. Which makes travel through the pass, pristine! Beyond Kennedy Meadows Sonora Pass
really begins to climb. There is approximately 26 miles of windy and
very steep roads. The views along the way are surely worth picture
stops. Especially during late spring, early summer when many of the
high-elevation wildflowers are in bloom. After crossing the summit
you'll see the change in terrain on the eastern side of the Sierras.
It too has it's own unique beauty rivaling the western slopes in it's
own way. There are no services after Dardanelle traveling eastbound on
Highway 108 so travel prepared.
