  •  Sierra Repertory Theater (15) has two theater venues, one in East Sonora (15 minutes) and one in Columbia at the Fallon House 25 minutes). Professional theatre,
    in an intimate comfortable setting, great rates and wonderful entertainment!
    Our other great theater is     Stage 3 Theatre Company in Sonora (15 minutes). Check their websites for current performances.
     

  • Railtown 1897 State Historic Park (20) in Jamestown. Trains run only on weekends from April through October however the museum, park and depot gift shop are open all year. Lots of special train rides throughout the year as well. Check their website for details. Did you now that lots of movies throughout the years have been filmed here? In fact, the longest running series to be filmed here was Petticoat Junction. Be sure to check out the back area where lots of the old movie posters are displayed. Do you remember My Little Chickadee with W C Fields and Mae West? It was filmed here too!

  • Columbia State Historic Park (25)   located in Columbia just a couple miles off Highway 49. Relive the past during the days of the California Gold Rush in this historic town with all store operators dressing up in period costumes. Open all year with stores, museums and activities throughout the year. Admission is free.

  • Golfing in Twain Harte (5 minutes) at the Twain Harte Golf Club and in Sonora (20 minutes) at Mountain Springs Golf Club (25)

 Yosemite National Park only an hour and a half to the park entrance. However you should check during winter months if there are any road closures or park closures. We also have

 Calaveras Big Trees State Park in neighboring Calaveras County about an hour and a half away. Lots to keep you coming back again and again to our heaven on Earth!   Just 45 minutes to the popular town of Murphey's and Ironstone Vineyards.
